Default Reading Disk Capacitors...

Hey I have question, how do you interpret the numbers on disk capacitors. Thinking back, I think the first two are the value, and the second is the multiplier. Then the value is measured in pF's

I have one that saids "682M"

so that would be 6800 pF?

whats the 'M' mean?

While your answer is in the middle of the page, the whole thing is worth a read. Pretty interesting stuff about caps. In fact, the whole site is a good reference on electronics.

the "m" means a 20% tolerance rating.
A "k" means a 10%
A "c" means a 5% rating
