Default One Shot pulse

Hello,
I have a signal from a 4017 decade counter that I would like to convert from on to off with a duration of maybe 500 milliseconds. Would a one shot from a mono-stable be appropriate?

If your decade counter is supplying signals faster than 2Hz, your other signals shall be lost.

Also depends on the one shot - 555 / 78121 (/ 122 / 123 - I think).

I don't understand the question. What frequency is the clock signal going into the 4017?

If the period of the clock signal is 500 ms, then each output will be high for 500 ms.

If you explain more of what you are trying to do, we can help more.
