hi, I am trying to use 74165 (parallel to serial)and 74164(serial to parallel)
but both of the chip timing suggest certain inputs of logic for example like 0111111111111110 or 111100000000000 to be repeatedin the timing, how can I give an input like that in real world, I have done so in simulation

I can use osscaliscop or function gnertor but I dont know how to perform such output

you could use your PC ..or a microcontroller .. thats the only way i know , you have to use something programmable..

 

Perhaps you should mention what you are trying to do?, generally people use those chips for the wrong reasons!.
