i'm using 233 ic for serial communication.
is there is any other ic's are there for serial port communication?(i want 20 pin)
While i'm using (233 ic ) serial port the pc is getting hanging and the com port is getting disabled automatically.
After restarting the pc it is working for a while and again i'm facing problem!
help me!

 

I'm presuming you mean a MAX233?, this is just a level shifter IC, so it doesn't really have anything to do with serial communications, apart from converting between 0/5V and +12/-12V for RS232.

I would suspect your problem lies elsewhere, this could easily be confirmed by simple voltage or scope checks around the MAX233.
