Default Wiring a single phase motor to 200 volt.

Hello,

I am trying to hardwire up a single phase motor to 220 volt. There are only two posts in the motor L1 and L2.

From the wall, there are 3 wires- black, red and white. I assumed the black and red are hot wires (110 volt each) and the white is neutral.

So, which wire goes to which post.

BTW, I am in the US.

TIA.

You are correct ,the black and red should be hot and the white neutral. You should also have a green or bare copper wire for ground. If the motor is dual voltage as the nomenclature says you need to make sure the jumpers are correct for the voltage you are using..
