I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago. PCB123 seems to be the easiest to use (although I'm a quick learner when it comes to programs like these), and it's got a lot of functions.

yes, and you can order PCBs directly from within the software.

Eagle PCB from http://www.cadsoftusa.com has a freeware version which is limited only by board size.

It has fairly wide acceptance.

There are some tutorials for Eagle out there. I don't remember which one I used, but you really need to step through some tutorial. The interface is just not intuitive at all. Still, now that I'm used to it, I love working with it.

It's fairly powerful, and the Autorouter is a relatively good one. Go to http://www.olimex.com and get http://www.olimex.com/pcb/8mils.dru and http://www.olimex.com/pcb/10mils.dru ; they're good design rule checkers for Eagle.

It's not without quirks- copying parts from one library to another is painful. But it's outnumbered by features that DO work well.

It doesn't crash. This is a big plus, try Protel (crapware with far more spent on sales/marketing than on engineering) and you'll see what I mean.
