What would the 'power' be? power amplifier or lots of features?
Either way there must be a trade-off of power against simplicity-- you can't have both! How about cost -- 100s of pounds is dirt-cheap for studio gear but as much as I would want to pay?
If you want power amp then what power and how many channels?
If you want features then what? stereo channels or mono, effects sends? (how many?), eq? (parametric, fixed frequency, full 20 band graphic), channel monitoring? (headphones, ppm meters, overload LEDs), fixed signal routing or programmable?.

In principle a mixer (typical home studio or small stage type jobby) is a series of identical input channels (possibly a few oddball ones), an effects send/return panel, a monitoring panel and an output section; they are therefore not that complex electronically but the quantity results in a big price tag (though it could be made modular and so expanded as finance permits).
