i beed a brief explation for low pass , high pass, and notch filters and their uses.
any info would would bre great ly appreciated tnx

The ARRL Radio Amateurs Handbook has some great explanations of this sort of thing. There is also a fairly simplified design procedure shown though I am sure there is plenty of software available to do the work.
