Default reversing a 36v dc motor

Hi there. I've got an eletric boat on a 36v system that I need to reverse the motor output. I know there are four leads to the motor, and if memory serves, they are the field and stator connections. To reverse the motors direction, what two wires must I swap?

Thanks in advance,
Mike Smith

You can connect the stator and rotor serial or parallel. If changed the stator polarity, the motor run reverse. Also same result, when You changed the rotor polarity.

but only change one of them, if you change the stator and the rotor's polarity you will get no effect....
