Hey
A friend of mine registered on Electro Tech. After registering he couldn't reply to posts or create threads. He then resetted his password and was told by the page that a new password will be sent to his email. He never received this password. He also can't create a new account as the register page doesn't allow his email address to be used again. At some stage a page was displayed that said that his post priviliges might have been stopped by the administrator. He hasn't post anything from that account so I suppose it's not the case. Could you (webmaster) help us to correct this. We are students and your page is a greate resource for our studies, thanks and hope you can help us. |

You mean the e-mail wasn't received, it was likley sent. The person having the problem likley has his e-mail program blocking e-mail from un-authorized users. I think Nigel just mentioned something very like this the other day, there's nothing the admin can do if the user doesn't allow the e-mail through.

Hey
He received the first email that has a link on it. After clicking the link the page notified him that the password was reset and the new one will be send. So he got the first email but never received the second one that should give the resetted password. Wouldn't it be possible to totaly deregister his account and start it from scratch and only use the same email address as before. Thanks for the help |

Is this the guy who only accepts emails if you are registered with him? But at the same time sends out emails and expects replies to work properly (with unregistered people?)

Hey
Sorry dknguyen I don't really get what you are saying ? When he registered for the first time everything worked fine except he couldn't start a thread or reply to a post. He could log in and send private messages but that was about it. |
