if 2 IR leds are emitting towards a standard IR receiver module, each having slightly different encoded message - will the single IR receiver module be alright for detecting the encoded message....
(and :-o should the encoded message be cosntructed in an particular way, i.e. unique id at beginning or end) - i have no idea about the actual encoding...just surface level so please excuse my approach

Hi!

I'm returning to electronics - and am new to microcontrollers - so please bear with me...

I'm trying to analyse a proprietary board that has a em78p447sap microcontroller and an RF circuit. (Its the head unit for a wireless alarm)

When I work out how it works I would like to change the functions performed by the em78p447sap.

Are they reprogrammable?

If so, what kit would I need?

Thanks!

Hey,

Im currently working on a PS/2 interface for my microchip, my lcd code has been working perfectly fine but as i added more code to the PS/2 interface, I've noticed that any hex number that is outputted to the LCD was displaying letters in a funny order that were not HEX.

so i got a pen and paper and wrote down the letters to see if i could find any pattern in them, when i finished writing them i realized it was part of a string i defined in a table at the very begging of the code (just after ORG 0x05). the Hex table is defined some where around ORG 0x10B

would you guys know whats causing my program to call a address at the start of my code rather than where its suppose to be?

If you want more details such as source code, feel free to ask

Cheers

Hi everyone,
I apologize ahead of time for my electronic illiteracy, I'm not an EE... Anyway, I've been charged with designing an electronic display for an agricultural product over the next few months, and was wondering if there are any books that might be recommended for controlling preferably a capacitive touch screen tft display. If they are a complete nightmare, I think i could get away with a 20x4 character 5x7 dot matrix but the touchscreen is what everyone is hoping for. Does anyone know a resource for learning how to control these things? a book or website?

Thanks for any help!

This is my first post. I am in need of serious help. I am willing to read up on the info np, but i cant seen to find exactly what I am looking for:

C language, instructions, symbols & syntax for PIC18

I am working on a Smart Battery charging unit that i want to control using a PIC microcontroller.

Just want to get some basics up and running before i start design.

Like example how do i read the state of an input pin ( correctly setup RA0) using C language and PIC18f4331 or PIC18f4520

Any help would be much appreciated ( Going insane here )

I am trying to use Microchip C18 compiler(student's edition) with PIC18F4455 and trying to load MiWi P2P program into it.
So I thought I should start trying with the Demo code for P2P provided in "MiWi P2P-2.1.1 Web Release"
but whenever I am compiling it.
My application is going to be very simple.
I was wondering how should I deal with this problem. I would really appreciate if anyone can help to resolve this problem.

Also any other suggestions are most welcome. Please do share your experiences if you have used it and made work.

Im very new to assembly code, and I would like to use a simple PIC controller connected to LEDs for a current University product design project, I am able to programme the basics, such as making a flashing led and sequences, but for this project I need help in figuring out how to accomplish my problem. For this project I need to make a set of 8 LEDs brighten and dim (like the 8 Channel PWM LED Chaser) but also to do this in a (perceived) random pattern. any ideas how a beginner at assembly code can achieve this and any pointers of how to go about this? any help or suggestions are greatly welcomed.

Many thanks

At last I've jus completed my PIC course at last, but want to increase my knowledge and experience with PICs. I have a PIC18F452, and with my PICdem board I got 2 other PICs. I dont know what they are, but there are 2 stickers pasted on them. one says "4520LCDs1.HEX 09/06 28E8h" and the other says "PIC16.Hex 07/06 CAE6h". what are these PICs?

also, i programmed mainly PIC18F452, will it be a problem migrating to and programming with PIC16?are there many differences?are PIC18s or PIC16s preferred?

Also, do any of you know of any good projects or sites with projects that will give me ideas?

I'm thinkin of a possible mobile phone controller which you can use to SMS control signals to the device and it can switch on/off other devices...
