    Default gate drive design for mosfet

    hi
    i need to design half bridge switch using mosfet for half bridge dc-dc converter so i need sum guide lines like what are the design considerations n requirements n gate drive circuit to drive half bridge mosfet..........

    The drive requirements are determined by the gate charge required to charge the gate capacitance and turn the transistor off and on at the rate you require. The gate charge value (in coulombs) is usually stated in the MOSFET data sheet. Given that, and the turn-on time you need, you can determine how much gate drive current is required to charge and discharge the capacitance (current = charge ÷ time)

    thanks........ can i use tc4426 to drive half bridge mosfet which is used in SMPS

    No, I don't think that will work. It's a dual low side driver.

    I think you need something like this;

    A TC4428 would work if you use a pfet for the high side switch, and an nfet for the low side.
