Whenever I go to the Home Entertainment section of a store, the demo stereos are always connected out of phase with the bass cranked up to max to try avoiding the cancellation. Who is to blame? The salesmen.
Get a salesman to listen to your car's sound system and tell you if it sounds like it is in phase or out of phase. His answer will be wrong.

Well, i can see in the date of this thread that we are about 4 years late in re-introducing the speaker polarity tester. But rather late than never!
