    Default 5W Ultra Bright White LED 180 Lumen

    Brand New 5W Ultra Bright White LED 180 Lumen LEDs Lamp - eBay (item 260314726903 end time Feb-09-09 19:16:18 PST)

    I purchased 2 of these whit leds and want to be able to drive it. Anyone know of a good schematic to follow to drive it? Also what is the best efficient way to drive it? Thanks for your time.

    12V supply and a 6.8Ω, 5W resistor in series with each. And a heatsink - these things get very hot, DON'T TRY AND RUN IT WITHOUT THE HEATSINK.

    Not the most efficient way, but it will light them up.

    The most efficient way to drive it is with a switching regulator set for a 700ma limit.

    Do some research on proper heat sinking of these guys as they will burn up without removal of excess heat being generated.
