I need to add a VU meter to the line mixer that I have drawn up. However the only VU meter circuits that I can reliably find on the net are the 10 LED LM3915 IC's, which do offer a nice pretty display, but not the detail I was looking for. My target meter range is a wide -80 db to +20 db using either LED's or by way of LCD driver interface?
The LED route would be more cost effective, but the range is too wide for it to be availble in a small enough front panel display where I believe an LCD would be more effective. The Roland VM-3100 mixer has a nice example of this. I know this is going to require more than just an IC or too, and some programming may be involved, but at this piont I am a bit lost and need some tips on where to find more info. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Alcratin
