Hello again.If you have lets say a 7404 inverter,what is the difference if another ic is labeled as a 74ls04.I see many IC'S like this and have always wondered what it means......thanks.....

The LS stands for Low Power Schottky devices. These devices use the Schottky claming diodes in the input pins. Also they are faster because of the reduces charge in the depletion region.
