Default a simple frequency counter with lcd display

hello all
i am building a function generator for my college project, which will cosist of a no. of waveforms, their amplitude and frequency controlling knobs along with display of magnitudes.
what i require is the circuit diagram of the frequency counter. i am eagerly looking fwd to u ppl.
i think a schimt trigger will be of use here. what do u think? plz provide me with a ckt diagram of a frequency counter.

look up the MC14553B, it is a 3 digit BCD counter, made do the job. It was originally introduced by Motorola, now made by ON semiconductor (www.onsemi.com).

here's a wireless frequency counter that I've found (and will build) but perhaps you can adapt it to your needs. It uses a PIC chip and few passive components

Buddy, Thanks a lot man, I too needed a circuit for Freq, counter (actually will be needing one Soon)

that circuit is awesome, I love easy stuff
