a present system using this is the Smartcast by Hummingbird,
would it be possilbe to buy one of theirs and copy it?

I need to modify a fishfinder to make it remote from it's sensor,
i guess by encoding the transducer signal to radio and decoding to the fishfinder.
I know the the transducer has to be initially sounded, and maybey the pulsing frequency be adjusted, so there need to be two one-way signals.
