please somebody help me explain how tilt sensor works?

a tilt sensor is just a switch with a conductive liquid inside. If you tilt it, it shorts out the switch. the liquid is usually mercury

i see...
so how can i measure the tilt degree?
what sensor should i use ?
does accelerometer expensive ?

One way to measure tilt is with a potentiometer with a weight attached to the shaft, but this only works in one plane. What are you trying to do?

yeah well, just use an accelerometer. It made to meaurse changes in axis. You can get 1, 2 or 3 accelerometer. One to measure X or Y even Z. I think it cost about $5 bucks a chip or something, can't remember. Do a search online.
