Anyone know of any good circuit snippets that would allow me to filter certain audio frequencies? I am not looking to amplify, only supression. Hopefully something that would be rather simple and easy to compute the frequencies I want to supress. I couldnt find any good web sites about this.
Thanks, Kevin |

If you don't need any amplification, a simple R-C or L-C band-reject filter will serve the purpose. But for proper impedance matching it is advisable to use operational amplifier based band-reject filter with unity gain.

If you are only wanting certain frequencies to your sub, try this formula
L=R/(2pi*F(highest frequency you want the sub to let through)) L=the inductor you place in series with the + wire on the sub. R=the impedence of the sub If you are only wanting certain frequencies to your highs, try this formula C=1/(2pi*F*R) C=the capcitor you place in series with the + wire on the tweets. R=the impedence of the tweet F=the lowest frequency you want the tweet to let through If you are only wanting certain frequencies to your mids, do this Inquire the above formulas. Hope this helped you.

Try the following..........
An active audio filter http://www.mitedu.freeserve.co.uk/Ci...udio/notch.htm or http://www.elecraft.com/TechNotes/notch_filter_wj4p.htm and read the FULL article available at.... http://www.analogzone.com/avt08062.htm and have a look at the links on.. http://www.discovercircuits.com/A/a-filter-notch.htm If you want anymore do a google search for 'audio notch filter' Have fun  |
