Default LED Dimmer setup

I know very little and any information would be great. If you could can brake down any information down Barney style because this stuff easily confuses me. I would like to know what would be a good setup if I wanted to have a push button switch used to dim 2 LEDs?
Here is a pix of the switches I already have laying around.

Here is the link from RadioShack with a few spec on the switch.

It's a simple switch.
You're going to need a lot more circuitry to dim a couple of LEDs.
Of course a small microcontroller could do it.
