Hi!! I intend to design a Linear DC power supply i/p 240Vac 50Hz, o/p 220Vdc 0-8A,anyone having the related circuits?

How steady does the DC need to be?

Use a transformer with a 160V output and a huge 10000µF filter capacitor and it'll give you 225V which is near enough.
