Default 2.4GHz antenna for a telephone. Will this work?

Found this interesting looking 2.4GHz antenna but the design seems unusual.
I'm replacing a broken 2.4GHz antenna on the phones base.

yes, it will work though I'd rather do it in a semi-rigid cable.
