Default why REFERENCE pin is used?

i am working with an AD620 type instrumentation amplifier... In the IC pin number 5 has been designated as REFERENCE....

What is the use of this REF pin? What will happen if i give it to GND and i supply some voltage to this pin?

i could not find much information in the datasheet....

hi,
Its to apply an offset voltage to the output of the AD620.
If its tied to 0V, then there is no offset.

Do you have a circuit diagram to post.?

Look at the AD623 datasheet for more info.

Does this help.?

EDIT: added AD623 extract.
