| i am working with an AD620 type instrumentation amplifier... In the IC pin number 5 has been designated as REFERENCE.... What is the use of this REF pin? What will happen if i give it to GND and i supply some voltage to this pin? i could not find much information in the datasheet.... | |

Its to apply an offset voltage to the output of the AD620. If its tied to 0V, then there is no offset. Do you have a circuit diagram to post.? Look at the AD623 datasheet for more info. Does this help.? EDIT: added AD623 extract.
