In process found some dipped mica caps very cheap. Was/is still planning on using poly caps but are dipped micas low noise as are poly caps?

Capacitors don't make noise (although large ceramic capacitors are microphonic). Poor types make a small amount of distortion.

I haven't seen dipped mica capacitors for 40 years. I always use 5% tolerance metalized plastic film capacitors for audio filters.

Thanks. I found a supplyer that sells dipped mica caps for 35 cents each.

 

I remember dipped mica caps in very low values. An audio equalizer needs fairly high values, especially for low frequencies.
