I have built a pulse wave generating circuit with IC555.But it generates a continuous square wave. How do I make it generate time delayed set of pulse waves?

Have a read of this page. It has a circuit diagram for what you need.

Edit, a better page is here. It has the diagram from the first link only without the error.
