| I was wondering if anyone new a simple design for a transmittor/reciever circuit using infrared leds that will contantely output a high untill the beam is cut with approximently one meter proximity. Thanks | |

| Use a 555 timer to generate a 38 kHz signal to drive some IR LEDs. An IR reciever module will go low when it recieves the signal reflected off something. The IR reciever modules are cheap, and aren't too picky about the modulation frequency. I did something like this with a microcontroller. Didn't drive the LEDs very hard (20 mA, straight from the I/O pin), and get about 2 feet. | |

| Frequency can be generated with many IC s . I did it with 4093. It worked excellent.
