| Hi, there. In the 6 MHz of a TV signal. The modualted VSB. There is a colour carrier, a video carrier and a audio carrier. What I would like to comfirm is what modulation is the video componoent. Is the video Amplitude modulated? | |

| Yes, I believe that is correct. The video is AM and the sound is FM. The colour carrier is quadrature amplitude modulated with a suppressed carrier. See Wiki for more details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTSC

| TV was invented a very long time ago so they used AM modulation for the video luminance. Colour was added a lot later. Then stereo sound.
