You should study up on your tesla literature. Possible becomes redefined when you are dealing with things that you never really new existed. Telsa was able to transmit power over 23 miles with an efficiency over 80 percent!

I'm disappointed in MIT. Penn State University has been doing this research for quite some time now and is working closely with a power generation company to test larger scale transmissions. I'm sending my kid to Penn State, not MIT!

Well I wouldn't agree with that, my moble phone outputs a couple of Watts and it hasn't done any harm to me!

Like I said before, it depends on the frequency, you could probably stand near a transmitter radiating 1kW or more at 40kHz and it whouldn't hurt you but the same power level at 1GHz would cook you for sure.
