| I'm disappointed in MIT. Penn State University has been doing this research for quite some time now and is working closely with a power generation company to test larger scale transmissions. I'm sending my kid to Penn State, not MIT!

Like I said before, it depends on the frequency, you could probably stand near a transmitter radiating 1kW or more at 40kHz and it whouldn't hurt you but the same power level at 1GHz would cook you for sure.
