| Hi there, can any1 pls answer my question here? im using a 74HC14 as a osillation to generate a clock signal, the clock signal generate by 1 gate of the IC. but is it possible for me to use the reast of the gate to amplify it? or buffering the clock signal??? | |

You cant use the other gates in the ic to 'amplify' the clock, but you can to 'buffer' it. Its good practice to buffer an oscillator by using a spare invertor in the ic. In that way the osc section is isolated from whatever its driving.

| If you knew it already then why did you bother asking the question? By the way, if the clock is going to drive several ICs then use a separate buffer for each IC.
