Here's a basic schematic with no speed control. No guarantees. Not tested. Not even simulated.
EDIT: Speed control added. Same caveats apply.
EDIT: made a couple of corrections.
I dont quite understand the arrows --> are they suposed to meen ground? and why 2 wires going to the motor? in the first pic? Thanks a ton for the effort
No offence intended beochie, but if you have to ask such questions then you might not be expreianced enough to build this circuit.
I do not answer private messages asking for help because no one else can: benefit from advice I may give or correct me if I'm wrong.
Please ask on the open forum if you have a question and I'll be happy to help, if I know the answer.
lol, Ron, I draw up a schem a couple of days ago, and just realised its almost identical to yours in every wayThe phototransistor, comparator, the rising edge trigger circuit and the 555...even down to the values used for the timer!
I would say 'great minds think alike' but that would probably drag you down to my level..so glad I didn't post it now.

It's a very old British saying as well.Originally Posted by Ron H

I was guessing that was the case, but a quick search for the origins came up with references to American authors (e.g., Mark Twain). Similar British idioms were cited, but they were not very similar.Originally Posted by Nigel Goodwin

What, you guys aren't up on the latest one wire motors?, it's a follow on to the one-wire interface. Much more conserving of energy and should help make good progress for the war on global warming.
