Default data to serial port
Hi,

I am storing a count on a 12 bit ripple counter (4040). I need to get that count into a computer via the serial port.

I have looked over several documents on serial ports and they all leave me with more questions than answers. Has anyone done this or can anyone send me to (simple ops: ) documents that explain how to send data into a serial port (with sample schematics I hope)
