Default motor speed: Please Help

hi all,
i need to operate a servo motor with microcontroller.but before programming i need to know the pulse width of the motor for operation. servo is Futaba S3001. how can i determine the duty cycles of the motor for operaion. should i connect 5v at the terminal and use a signal generator for duty cycle. pls advice me.

with regards,

With an RC servo you periodically send some pulses of a certain length, usually centered around 1500us and the motor just goes to that position. The frequency of the pulses (and duty cycle) do not matter as long as the pulses are sent frequently enough.
