Do you need a good quality wave, or just a rough wave?

Colpitts Oscillator can solve your purpose.
It can produce fairly good sine waves at frequencies around 10kHz-1Mhz. Have a look at the schamatic. http://www.electro-tech-online.com/v...light=colpitts The output of this oscillator when fed to a step-up transformer will produce high voltage sine-waves. The inductor used can be of variable reluctance type to vary the freqyency. Also you can use variable capacitor.
