Please Help With Tacho Project - Electronic Circuits Projects Diagrams Free

Hi, I am trying to make a digital tachometer using microcontroller,Can anyone help me with the schematics and program of PIC16F72 controller.

The idea is to find the time period of one revolution using proximity sensor and then frequency and then speed.

ive been trying for six months and since im not expert in meuP programming i have no idea..I need to drive the speed output to a LCD display

Check my PIC tutorials, which measure pulse timings using software loops in a couple of them (IR and joystick).

Hint:
1Hz is one cycle or one pulse per second.
2Hz is two cycles per second.
1rpm is one cycle every 60 seconds or 1/60 cycle per second.
