Iam actually looking for a circuit,which instead of connecting a handset, i wanted to connect a standard audio headphone to a normal telephone..

i can just remove the hand set and connect the headphone...

If Your phone contain an electret mirophone,it's same as headset mic. The speaker output inside the phone 8...50ohm, also possible to drive the headset speaker. Only one the problem: often the mic. and speaker haven't common wire, so You need a headset with four wires...
