Default lining a cd or md player to a older portable stereo

I would like to be able to connect my minidisc player to my portable stereo but it does not have a line in jack. Is there a way to modify this stereo to connect these two?

Since both are battery operated, ther would not be a problem in connecting to the volume control in the stereo. Use a coupling capacitor to insure that no DC is transferred.
