    Default What kit to buy.

    Hello guys.

I am completely new to micro controllers but I really want to learn about them.

I have this project that I wish to do, basically I want to take sound input and amplify it so that it lights some ultra bright LEDS. This is my goal.

However, as I really don't know much about this stuff, I should get my feet wet first.

Are there any beginners kits that some one can suggest? Something not terribly expensive, and that I could use for later projects?

Bellow is a link to a micro controller I found may possibly work for my idea.
    LM3914 - Dot/Bar Display Driver

EDIT: By kits, I mean something to show me how to use/program these things. Not a kit that handles the LEDs.
