What are the female ends on this ribbon cable called? I would like to get some of these that are keyed. Thanks!

hi,
As Ken says they are IDC.

Normally they are polarised, a raised area on the cable socket mates with a recess in the plug body [pcb end]

You can buy the female headers with quick release levers, which are fitted to the ends of the plug.

Use a bench vice , carefully, to connect the ribbon cable to the header

hi Spkrguy,

Excuse the poor image.

Its the IDC with release levers, ideal for use where the connector is disconnected frequently.

I think they are all keyed aren't they? You'll need a keyed socket to make sure its connected the right way around though.
