2007-2008 Students

Blog entry posted in 'Uncategorised', June 22, 2008.

These are a few pictures taken during the past year. It shows my classroom from early in the year and all 3 students. The girl is my pre-teen mentor student. This lady is as sharp as a tack can solder with the best of us.

    I teach in the Boondocks.
3 students (only, thats costy) ? Where do you teach ?
I do not receive compensation. From a materials standpoint it is still a bit on the expensive side but worth it. I do not receive compensation other then having a real reason for getting out of bed in the AM. It takes time to build a culture where the kids are interested in this sort of thing, Next year we will have 5 or 6 students. Two of them will be returning from last year. We make extensive use of the Junebug. We do not have a scope so I end up dragging my analog unit back and forth. Now that the Junebug has the logic tool I hope to do more with it and less with the scope.

Thats cool tho... I wish i could start up something like that but i live in the ghetto and its like no one cares here about this stuff it doesnt interest them. I hope to be moving out of NYC in the next year. Going to Philadelphia, PA. Hopefully a better start out there.

That's pretty remote right ? I took some time searching it on Google and i came up with this http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=pt-PT&geocode=&q=Boondocks+USA&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=59.597077,99.667969&ie=UTF8&ll=35.738919,-83.604412&spn=0.007576,0.012167&t=h&z=16 At least the few students you have must be motivated ! :)
