    What is full form of AVR ? ie AVR Stands for ???????????????????

    Probably because no one cared?

    AVR probably means nothing?, it was just a three letter name designed to compete with the MicroChip PIC (which also stands for nothing definite).

    avr stands for "advance virtual risc" where avr also stands for "Alf Egil Bogen Vegard Wollan RISC" whr risc stands for reduced instruction set computer........ dont worry buddy.. sometimes we play with the things even when we dnt know about them....

    The first video on the AVR television website shows the creators jokingly about to tell what AVR means before being cut off. It has no official meaning, the same as PIC.

    Yes Atmel simply choose a similar three letter name to try and compete with the PIC.

    I have heard that in a video on AVR Freaks , and also Alf-Egil Bogen and
    Vegard Wollan invented it.
