Question Can't Upload Attachments

I have a problem when uploading files to threads.

The forum software doesn’t allow me to upload them.

These warnings gives by the software.

Exceeds your quota by 4.98 MB. Click here to view your attachments

Sum of all attachments owned by Gayan Soyza: 5.90 MB

It's probably exactly what the error message said: you've uploaded more than your quota of attachments and you must remove something to make space for more uploads.

What happened when you clicked the link it offered and read what it said there?

Click on User CP.
Then look at the bottom of the column on the left of the page and click on "Attachments" under the "Miscellaneous" group. Delete some of the larger and less important ones. Maybe ElectroMaster can up the quota for attachments. Actually, linking the number of green squares to the max attachment quota would make the reputation system useful for something at least.

Hi Torben I removed some attachments but still it doesn't give me to upload.

Is it ok if I delete all the attachments?

If I remove them where the post that I replied with the attachments also get removed?

What size is the file you're trying to upload?

Bizarre. Unless the forum software has a bug, quotas have not been enforced before now, or your quota has recently been lowered, there should be no way that adding 48 KB would exceed your quota by almost 5 MB.

I'd say that your best bet is to PM ElectroMaster and hope he knows what's going on.

This is very strange as I have never seen a quota on uploads.

Code:
 5.90 owned
-4.98 over quota
====
 0.02 quota
This does not make sense. The system must be ill.

Removing attachments cripples/guts existing threads, bad idea.

Here is the link.

Oh nooo I can find PDF on those things but I like to make my posts very nice looking. That's the main thing. The ones I deleted now I cannot find the posts they were many.So I lost them.

I wonder Mr Eric Gibbs uploading so may attachments per day.But he doesn't have this problem. But I get.Do you remove attachments from your list Mr?Do you have any space limits?

Hi Gayan,
I try to keep my files as small as I think is acceptable for quality.

I have seen huge bmp's being uploaded, one the other day 3.3MB [fuzzy too], but I havn't heard of anyone complaining about going over some 'total' maximum posting size restriction.

I dont remove any attachments.

I thought bmps were banned because they use up a huge amount of space, unless it's changed back since the software was updated.

I've having this problem too.

Don't delete anything, if it's a text file like a .c .h or .asc then paste it into code tags or if it's an image then use another file hosting site. I prefur TinyPic to Photobucket as you can easilly enclose the image in img tags and it's add free.
