i have two 3 bit numbers and i need to calculate their resolt in base 5
how to do that??? |

Hi,
This is a most unusual request. Base-5 is also known as Quinary. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base_5 Short extract: Quote:
However, as a straight answer, i would convert the two numbers from base 5 into normal decimal, do the multiplication, then convert the result back into base 5. But if you wish do the mathematics using base 5, i am not at all sure that its possible in the accepted way, that is columns and rows. Some of these counting methods, like Roman numbering, may look nice, but do not lend themselves to mathematical arrangements. Suggest you investigate biquinary, as mentioned in Wikipedia.
